Intersection between Domestic Violence & Human Trafficking
Please join us for a training on Intersection between Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence on January 26th from 2-3 pm EST. This is an interactive discussion on human trafficking and domestic violence. After this presentation, participants will be able to identifying resources and services available to individuals that are both victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
Gabriela Leon serves as Tapestri’s Anti-Human Trafficking Outreach Coordinator, prior to her new position she was a Domestic Violence Program Coordinator. In this role, she provided culturally appropriate legal advocacy to foreign national survivors of domestic violence as well as training on domestic violence. Before joining Tapestri, she served as a Medicaid Eligibility Specialist with the Department of Family and Children Services. Originally from Ecuador, Ms. Leon is fluent in Spanish and earned the equivalent of a US bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. Before coming to the US, Ms. Leon served in Ecuador as a therapist to refugees with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and in private practice, as well as with the Fundación.
